1.1.3 - Program Curriculum
An in-depth roadmap detailing your path to hockey IQ development. What you will learn, how I will teach it and where you can expect to be by the end of this program.
Program Structure
This program consists of 16 total on-ice sessions from late March to early June. 12 of the sessions will be practice-style clinics focused on developing specific hockey tactical skills. The remaining 4 of the sessions will be scrimmages, focused on applying those previously-learned tactics in a real game setting.
Development Blocks
I have split the 16 total ice sessions into 4 development blocks. Each block will consist of 3 clinics and 1 scrimmage. We will have specific skills we are focused on for each block. Players will be assigned homework in the form of playbook lessons to complete before each on-ice session. Players will also be assigned 1 hour of NHL game film to watch each week to get additional “mental reps” on the targeted skills.
In addition, I will hold weekly Zoom meetings for all players to attend where I will analyze game film either from an NHL game or from some of my our games to help you learn to read the game through the eyes of a coach.
The Curriculum
You can view the entire program curriculum inside the “program schedule” section on the home page of the playbook. From there, you’ll see how the blocks are split up and you can click on each week for a detailed view of the curriculum & skills we will be focused on building.
