1.3.1 - Weekly Homework
Weekly homework assignments designed to help you start “thinking” the game like a pro.
You are responsible for completing your hockey homework each week of the program. Winners stay prepared.
Weekly Playbook Lessons
Each week I will assign you lessons to complete & videos to watch from the playbook. These will directly correspond to the skills we are working on during our on-ice sessions.
If I list a lesson for you to complete that you have already watched or completed, that means I want you to watch it again. Repetition is the key to mastery, and there might be certain little details that you don’t pick up the first or second time.
Weekly NHL Game Film Study
Each week I will also assign you 1 hour of NHL game film to watch. Not just watching the game for entertainment, but to study the game.
It doesnt matter which team or which game, and it doesnt matter whether the game is live or recorded.
All that matters is that you watch for the specific things I cue you on.
Each week of this program will have a corresponding lesson located just below this one with your homework prompt for that week.
Follow the guidelines and just have fun watching hockey and being a student of the game.
Where to Find NHL Games
If you aren’t able to catch a game live or don’t have the ability to record games, here are a couple alternatives (free and paid):
Free Option - https://nhlfullgame.com
I frequently use this site to download NHL game film. They don’t have every game, but there is plenty to choose from.
Paid Option - https://plus.espn.com/nhl
This is the best option for watching NHL games if you dont mind paying $12 / month. You can go back and re-watch recent games, or catch many out-of-market games live.
